• President Droupadi Murmu concluded her three-nation European tour covering Moldova, North Macedonia and Romania.
• The visit focused on strengthening India's bilateral cooperation in areas such as trade, investment, defence, tourism, agriculture, renewable energy and education.

What were the key outcomes of the visit?

• Moldova: India and Moldova agreed to expand cooperation in agriculture, logistics, infrastructure, healthcare, pharmaceuticals, renewable energy and innovation.
• North Macedonia: Both countries agreed to work towards doubling bilateral trade and enhancing cooperation in tourism, hospitality and filmmaking.
• Romania: India and Romania agreed to double bilateral trade over the next three years and strengthen cooperation in defence and other strategic sectors.

• This was the first-ever visit by an Indian President to Moldova.

• The flood situation in Assam has gradually started improving as water levels recede in several districts, though relief and rescue operations are continuing.
• The State Government has announced that rehabilitation of the affected families will begin from August 2026.
• An Inter-Ministerial Central Team (IMCT) has reached Assam to assess the damage caused by the floods.

What is the latest flood situation?

• The flood death toll has reached 62, while several persons are still reported missing.
• More than 11 lakh people across 25 districts have been affected during the current flood season.
• Relief and rescue operations are continuing with support from the Indian Air Force (IAF) through targeted airdropping of relief materials.
• The Dhansiri and Dikhow rivers were flowing above the danger level, although water levels were reported to be steady or receding.
